Kanati Armor Hog ATX Review
September 14, 2020
Today we are going over all of our thoughts on the Kanati Armor Hog ATX.
1. About Kanati Tires
Kanati Tires was started in 2010, and being that they have always been off-road fanatics like us, they specifically designed their tires to appeal to the light truck in the off-road community for high performance and durability in off-road terrain with maintaining respectable on-road manners as well. Kanati is owned by Greenball and has been successfully engineering and designing tires for over 45 years with the lines and models that cover everything from trailer tires, semi tires, farm, and industrial tires to even golf cart tires and doing it by a commitment to meeting their customer's needs and demands. That's how Kanati Tires became what it is today. They knew they needed a light truck and off-road industry tire that meets the demands and performance that we require without sacrificing quality for value.
2. Kanati Armor Hog ATX Review
And now, their newest model, the industry's first, all-steel carcass model, the Armor Hog ATX. Currently available in 28 different sizes, The F load rated Armor Hog ATX was engineered to be the industry's first all-steel 12 ply carcass constructed tire to provide much more stability in the sidewalls while carrying heavy loads or when you're towing heavy trailers. Plus, the all-steel carcass provides unmatched durability and protection against sidewall cuts and punctures from trail hazards while off-roading.
Kanati also designed its tread to have a multifaceted variable pitch design, giving it the ultimate blend of on-road and off-road traction. On-road, the variable tread pitch design offers a quiet and smooth ride while off-road, it keeps the ground below guessing on which tread block is gonna bite it next. Clearly, as you can see this tread pattern also offers these massive shoulder lugs and these large evacuation voids that will quickly toss out any snow, sand, mud, or water while the tire is spinning to keep the lugs biting the terrain and the momentum moving, whether it's forward, reverse, or even for braking and cornering traction. They also have these transformer looking logo designs raised sidewall biters to also help aid in assisting with your forward momentum and offering additional traction, especially when aired down and help in providing additional protection against cuts and punctures as well.
3. Wrap Up
If you are carrying a lot of weight with your truck or overland vehicle, or just want that extra protection from cuts and punctures on the trail, then these Kanati Armor Hogs won't let you down. Want to pick up a set for your rig? The Armor Hog ATX is priced right around $1100 putting them in a very competitive position when compared to other all-terrain tires. We're incredibly impressed by the performance for the price that the newest Kanati tire brings to the table.
