Can You Ceramic Coat Wheels?
August 31, 2020
In today's blog, we will be covering what Ceramic Coating does, what it is, and how you can get it done for your wheels.
What is Ceramic Coating? What does it do?
Ceramic coating is a hydrophobic, liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your paint. It is applied to the surface of the paint on your wheel and the bond it creates will not wash away as wax does. If you were to look at paint under a microscope you would see that it is jagged and uneven. Because of this, things like mud, dirt, grass, gravel, etc, stick to your wheels. When you put a ceramic coat on your wheels it smooths out that even paint and fills in all of those gaps and makes it smooth. This means that anything trying to stick to your wheel will fall right off, not only keeping it clean but also making it easier to clean in the future. It is completely clear and will help to protect you from terrain but also different seasonal problems as well. Salt in the winter can cause corrosion on wheels, a ceramic coat will help to prevent that. It will be really great for you if you choose a wheel with tight spokes (for example the Anthem Off-Road Avenger) because it will make cleaning those difficult spokes much easier. It will not protect from chips and scratches but it will protect from just about anything else. We highly recommend it.
How to Ceramic Coat Your New Anthem Off-Road Wheels
So you have just gotten brand new wheels and you are going to want to protect them. Luckily here at Anthem Off-Road, we offer Ceramic Coating as a service to add on with your wheels and we will do it all for you. All you need to do is add your wheels to your cart and a pop-up menu will come up asking if you want spiked lug nuts and TPMS among other things. In that menu, Ceramic Coating will be one of those options. It only costs $179 to protect your wheels forever and we will do all the work so that when you get your wheels they are ready to go. What could be better than that?
